Okay I’m Back
Monday, March 29, 2010
However I realized during my trip to the store today that I’m feeling a bit low-energy food-wise, so I think we’re going to start the re-start with a lowest common denominator approach — the cheapest and simplest foods that are moderately healthy that require as little thought as possible for me to prepare. Which is likely to be not at all impressive, but could potentially be useful to others who want to eat well for not much but don’t want to work too hard.
Recipes from before the break coming soon, and in the meantime, you can check out this link that a friend sent about someone inspired by all the $1 a Day projects last year to try to eat for $365 for the year. Will she make it? Only time will tell…
Hope everyone had a good week. More soon.

Welcome back! Hope you had a fun and relaxing break. This week is my kids’ Spring break. One is in FL for a cheer competition and the younger one is enjoying being the “only child” for a change. Weather is finally nice up here in the midwest and that is wonderful after all the cold. I’m catching up on home chores and enjoying the slower pace with my daughter and husband. Happy blogging!

Thanks! The week off was great, it was good to only worry about one thing for a little while. And not think about whether I’d eaten cereal too many times in a row. :)

Glad you are back! We left March 30th for a family tour that included western NY and southwestern PA, where we are now. We’ve basically been eating whatever the family wants to serve, and it’s been a very restful time. Our only food purchases on the road so far is one large Subway sandwich, and a loaf of homemade rye bread, a chunk of Wisconsin cheddar and a bag of Empire apples. We feel much better eating this way than we did when depending on the traditional fast food burgers and fries!
Thanks for the link to the $365 challenge. Looking forward to your new posts!
