Another great leap forward in my quest for more carbs.
More than 950 calories of biscuit for a mere $0.49. Just add water.
I meant to add the orange zest, but apparently I spent so much mental energy figuring out how much water to mix with a third of the box to make the amount I wanted that I completely forgot about the orange zest until I pulled the cooked biscuits out of the oven.
Guess we’ll save that for another day—still two-thirds of the box left, so I’ll definitely get another chance.
The Jiffy biscuits are very light and fluffy and the flavor is pretty good. Not as good as scratch biscuits, but for $0.49, no complaints.
So for meal one had the biscuits with a leftover hard-boiled egg that I cooked the other day to use with the curried eggs but didn’t need, and the tangerine I bought yesterday.
For meal two had more of the pasta with the $0.81 marinara sauce.
And spent only $0.50 today so I’m in good shape for tomorrow’s trip to the carniceria.
